Hey ladies, we are so excited to finally be back this semester and jumping into week 1 of our study. We will be meeting in Oakley Hall room 124, at 7:30 Pm. 6:00pm – 6:30pm CHECK-IN with Stage Management in the Playhouse Lobby, complete the audition form.
6:30pm – 8:30pm MUSIC AUDITION
Please prepare a song no more than 2 minutes in length.
8:45 – 10:00pm ACTING AUDITION
The acting audition will include cold readings and a short interview.
Roles available for 8 woman and 6 men.

RSVP by Sept 1 for Eastman Fireside Chat on LGBTQ+ Experiences in STEM on Sept 6
Join the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and Lambda on Wednesday, Sept 6 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in LSC 1211 as we co-host representatives from the Eastman Equality employee resource group as they discuss their LGBTQ+ experiences in STEM. Pizza will be provided so please RSVP through this Google form by Sept 1 if you plan to attend so we can have a headcount. This is an open discussion and all majors are welcome. Annual Running of the Freshmen
Head to Tucker Stadium for the Tech Football home opener and the Annual Running of the Freshmen on Saturday, September 16. Freshmen in attendance will receive a FREE t-shirt and get to lead the Golden Eagle Football team onto the field with President Oldham and the First Lady prior to kickoff. Tech will face the Lions of North Alabama with kickoff set at 6:00 p.m. Contact abranstiter@tntech.edu for questions.

What do you think Tech’s gen ed could be? Let’s talk on Thursday, Aug. 31
Come to the RUC Tech Pride Room at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, for a town hall meeting about what the vision for Tech’s general education curriculum should be. Help us answer this question: What skills and knowledge do you as a future Tech graduate need to better prepare you for your intended career and your future as an informed citizen of the state, region, nation and world? We want to hear from you!
Light refreshments will be provided.

TENN TECH’S ROTC PROGRAM HOSTS 9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB
Tennessee Tech’s ROTC program is holding a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor first responders and those who lost their lives on that day. The climb will take place in Tucker Stadium on September 9, 2023. The gates will open at 8:00 a.m. for new participant registration, and at 8:46 a.m., the stair climb will commence. Participants are encouraged to walk the stairs without weight or join the members of Tech’s ROTC Golden Eagle Battalion, who will complete the stair climb wearing 35-pound backpacks. Participants can sign up for the event for free by using the link below or by contacting Tech’s ROTC group at (931) 372-3283 or kloftis@tntech.edu.

Budget Training Sessions for September
September budget trainings are now scheduled for anyone who is interested in attending. Please click here to register for a virtual session. Recorded trainings are also available on our homepage in addition to the monthly training dates, please click here to view our recorded sessions. Please note the General Budget Training is the only required training needed for signature authority on budget revisions, and is not available as a recorded session, you must register to attend. Recorded trainings include Position Control Budget Training, Budget Banner Screen Training, and Shadow System Training. All four trainings mentioned are presented monthly if you prefer a live virtual training, and all employees are welcome to attend. New Catalog Platform
TN Tech has recently launched a new undergraduate and graduate catalog user interface in collaboration with Coursedog, an integrated academic operations platform that also now services our university’s events and course scheduling and curriculum management. You will be able to access the catalog the same as you have in the past using the Academics link in the Express bar of any TN Tech webpage.
While the look and feel of the new catalog is certainly different and more aesthetically pleasing, the content is still the same and will still eventually include all the information that was previously housed in the former catalog system. Program and class requirement information is still being integrated at this time. For complete program and course information, a PDF version of the 2023-2024 undergraduate catalog under the previous catalog system is available to you in the interim by clicking “PDF Versions” in the top right corner of the new catalog.

Stormwater Management Committee annual open meeting to be held September 7th.
Tennessee Tech will hold its annual open meeting of the Stormwater Management Committee on Thursday, September 7th from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM via MS Teams. The committee will discuss stormwater management on the Tech campus, followed with a time for Q & A and discussion.

Tech launches new podcast: “College Town Talk”
Tennessee Tech has launched a new podcast in partnership with the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors Bureau titled “College Town Talk.” Each week, hosts Jonathan Frank and Shan Stout introduce listeners to Tech faculty, staff and students – as well as successful Tech alumni, local business owners and civic leaders – who are making a difference and living Wings Up in their community.
