Tennessee Tech’s PsiChi will be hosting our annual Fright Night with Uncle Doug in the Haunted Basement of Matthews-Daniel.
Join Uncle Doug in a haunting tour with possessed artifacts along the way.

We will be hosting you all on October 19,20,26, and 27 starting at 6:00pm with 30 minute time slots.

WEST Workshop: How to Write an Annotated Bibliography
Does your research project require an Annotated Bibliography? Have you never written one, or perhaps you need some pointers on how to make yours pop? WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! On Thursday, 10/19, we will be leading a dead hour workshop on writing annotated bibliographies. We can talk about the genre as a whole, and discuss specific concerns you might have for your class or instructor. The workshop will be in Henderson Hall 304B, from 11:00-11:50. No registration is required, and all are welcome. And if you can’t make the workshop, come for a one-on-one session with one of our consultants. Periodic Table of Cupcakes Bake Sale- Oct 18
Celebrate National Chemistry Week by purchasing a cupcake of your favorite element! The Student Members of the American Chemical Society will be holding a periodic table of cupcakes bake sale on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the LSC porch. OCM to Host Contracted Vendor Promo Show
The Office of Communications and Marketing will be hosting a Contracted Vendors Promo Show on campus on Monday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Tech Pride Room of the Roaden University Center.
This is a great opportunity to see the latest promo items and network with the vendors. Invited vendors include: 4Imprint, Blink Marketing, Club Colors, Cookeville Promo, Consolidus, Harvest Promotional, Patdome Promotions and HALO Branded Solutions. Tech Printing Services will also be there to showcase new products available from the print shop.
There is no cost to attend, and lunch is provided beginning at 11 a.m. Vendors will have free product samples for everyone, and you are encouraged to bring your business cards to share and make connections. The OCM will also be doing some door prizes and other giveaways.

Campus Pulse Fall 2023
Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) for our next session, Campus Pulse, on Tuesday, October 17th at 11 AM via Teams. During this session, we will present insights from data gathered through the Institutional Dashboard and our latest round of Small Group Instructional Diagnostics (SGIDs). The Rural Reimagined Faculty Grant Program offers TN Tech faculty members the opportunity to secure up to $25,000 in research funding for addressing rural challenges. The Student Members of the American Chemical Society are hosting a Pie a Professor fundraiser for National Chemistry Week on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the LSC lawn. You can purchase a mini whipped cream pie for $2 (or 3 for $5!) to throw at the participating faculty and lab teaching assistants. Medicinal Chemistry Webinar for National Chemistry Week- Oct. 16
Join the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) as we kick off National Chemistry Week! The theme this year is “The Healing Power of Chemistry” and focuses on health and medicine. On Monday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. in SLH 126 we will be showing the ACS webinar “Creating Psychedelic Analogs to Treat Neuropsychiatric Disease”. Dr. Bhattacharya Receives American Chemical Society Grant
Dr. Gourab Bhattacharya (Earth Sciences) recently received a grant from the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund. This ACS research grant will span 2 years and fund 4-6 undergraduate students.
Dr. Bhattacharya and his students will investigate the timing and intensity of paleo-thermal events within the rocks of the Cumberland Plateau. This research will enhance our comprehension of the geological evolution of the hydrocarbon-rich southern Appalachian Basin, specifically the portion situated in Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau.
