    The duo will perform works for saxophone and piano by Fazil Say, Takashi Yoshimatsu and Chick Corea in Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building. Described by noted American composer Libby Larsen as “fearless on stage,” saxophonist Stephen Page has garnered international prominence as one of the leading saxophonists of today’s younger generation. Dr. Page has appeared across four continents, in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada and across the United States.     Christopher Reames and Matthieu Cognet in Recital Wednesday, March 20

    Presenting a recital entitled Love: Lost and Found, tenor and voice professor Christopher Reames will perform with French pianist Matthieu Cognet, featuring works by Debussy, Schumann and Poulenc at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building.

    French pianist Matthieu Cognet is an active soloist and sought-after chamber player who has appeared in major venues and festivals in Europe and the United States, including Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, the Cultural Institute of Chicago (Myra Hess Memorial Concerts), Hemptinne Festival (Belgium), the Rushmore Music Festival, SD, the Festival Memphis in May,
    the Saint Georges Music Festival in Guadeloupe, the Prades, Castelnaudary and Pianissimes Festivals (France).

    Level Up: Gaming Cave Upgraded

    The Burnett Rec Center’s Gaming Cave has recently had a glow up. With a sleek new look featuring fresh paint and vibrant LED lighting, Campus Recreation is excited to offer this enhanced space for Tennessee Tech students to game. The Cave now boasts four state-of-the-art gaming stations complete with upgraded displays, ethernet ports, and plush seating for ultimate comfort. Designed with flexibility in mind, the chairs can be moved to allow for seamless transitions between small group play and larger gatherings. Students can bring their preferred consoles to challenge fellow gamers both on campus and across the globe. Open daily for all facility users, the Cave is also available for student group reservations, offering the perfect venue for practices and LAN gaming events.

    Counseling & Psychology Grad Programs Reaffirm and Expand CACREP Accreditation

    The department of Counseling and Psychology is proud to announce that our counseling programs received accreditation decisions from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). All three graduate counseling programs, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.A. degree), School Counseling (M.A. degree), Counseling and Supervision (Ph.D. degree), were accredited for a full eight years (with retroactive accreditation for all School Counseling and Ph.D. program graduates since January 2022). This recognition highlights the commitment to providing exceptional education and training for future counselors, supervisors, and educators.

    Counseling Center Staff Present at the American College Counseling Association

    Ravi Patel and Lara Strate from the TN Tech Counseling Center traveled to the annual American College Counseling Association Conference held in Orlando, Florida on February 23-25 to present original research. Mr. Patel presented his research titled “Equipping Collegiate Clinicians: Treating the Effects of Transgenerational Trauma from Natural Disasters.” Ms. Strate presented her research titled “The Relationship Between Alexithymia and Highly Sensitive Persons: A Literature Review”. Do you have the inspiration to tell a story through visual art or with a comedic skit? Do you have a talent that you want to share with others within our university and our community?
