Mantra Health for students
In the spirit of fostering a campus culture that values and nurtures the well-being of our students, we are encouraging students to prioritize their mental health this semester. Renewable Energy Educational Park Proposal

We hope you had a great Spring Break! We are an interdisciplinary team of graduate students working on a small project for our CHE 6130: Food, Energy, and Water (FEW) Nexus Challenge. We would greatly appreciate your time and help in completing this project. From Clueless to Committed: An Evening with Scholar, Storyteller and Slam Poetess Harriett Jernigan will be Wednesday, March 20th at 7 p.m. in Stonecipher 113.
What happens when you are born in California, raised in Japan, and then attend the University of Alabama? What does it mean to grow up living between and across cultures in an age of mobility and the growing urgency to devote ourselves to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion regardless of where we are? What does it mean to go from clueless to committed? And how is it done with intelligence, grace and humor?

WEST Workshop 3/21: Thinking About Writing
Do you find writing intimidating? Do you struggle to take ownership over your writing, or to find your own voice within an assignment? WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! On Thursday, 3/21, we will be leading a dead hour workshop on Thinking About Writing. We can talk about how to claim your own voice as a writer and how to demystify writing itself. The workshop will be in Henderson Hall 216A, from 11:00-11:50. No registration is required, and all are welcome. Poet Jayme Ringleb to Read at Tennessee Tech on March 21
Center Stage welcomes poet Jayme Ringleb to campus for two events on March 21. They will read from their acclaimed poetry collection, So Tall it Ends in Heaven, called “an intimate, assured debut” by the New York Times, at 7 p.m. at the Backdoor Playhouse. This event is free and open to the public. Earlier in the day, they will give a talk about creative writing called “Poetics of the Trigger: How Can Poetry Address Pain Without Reproducing It?” This talk is open to all students and takes place at 11 a.m. in Henderson Hall 304B. The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. Applications must be submitted electronically in a single PDF to jdicey@tntech.edu on or before April 5, 2024. Guests Stephen Page and Alexandre Maynegre-Torra Perform Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
The duo will perform works for saxophone and piano by Fazil Say, Takashi Yoshimatsu and Chick Corea in Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building. Described by noted American composer Libby Larsen as “fearless on stage,” saxophonist Stephen Page has garnered international prominence as one of the leading saxophonists of today’s younger generation. Dr. Page has appeared across four continents, in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada and across the United States.
