    Course Mapping & Alignment

    Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 12th for a Course Mapping & Alignment workshop.  Aligned courses ensure students’ knowledge and skills are measured according to established learning objectives. In this workshop, we will discuss the benefits of creating and reviewing both course-level and module-level learning objectives. We will also show examples of mapping at the daily, weekly, and semester levels for alignment in different disciplines. Register below and contact the CITL at citl@tntech.edu.

    Are you interested in a research career in the natural sciences (including psychology), mathematics, or engineering? Or do you know a student who qualifies?   • Elizabeth Sofia named Director of Development for College of Engineering

    Elizabeth Sofia named Director of Development for College of Engineering

    Elizabeth Sofia has been named Director of Development for Tennessee Tech’s College of Engineering.

    From her sales work at Ideal Distributing to her service as executive assistant to the Director of North America for Delivery Service Partners and Director of Onboarding and Acquisition for North America with Amazon, Elizabeth has a strong knowledge of using strategic processes to build and enhance relationships. Elizabeth also has university experience, previously serving as the executive assistant to Tennessee Tech’s Provost.

    Elizabeth also currently serves as the President of Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue, a local nonprofit dedicated to operating the Major Michael Shipley Spay and Neuter Clinic in Putnam County.

    She holds three degrees – a bachelor’s in psychology from Troy University, a master’s in public safety from Tech and an Ed.S. from Tech. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in exceptional learning at Tech.

    Bacchanal 2023

    The School of Art, Craft and Design at Tennessee Tech University presents the 26th Annual Bacchanal on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 1 to 5pm at Spankies Restaurant.

    Bacchanal is a celebration of art, wine and food, and features a live auction of art and fine craft. Guests can bid on a variety of works created by local and national artists, Tennessee Tech alumni, faculty, students, and artists in residence. All proceeds from the event support scholarships for students in the School of Art, Craft & Design degree programs. To date, Bacchanal has supported students with more than $150,000 in scholarships.

    Attendees will enjoy an elegant buffet of sumptuous eats prepared by Spankies Restaurant and refreshments of fine wine and craft beer donated by Empire Distributors of Tennessee and Budweiser of Cookeville. Live music will be performed by students from Tennessee Tech’s School of Music. Reservations are available for $60 in advance or may be purchased at the door for $70 while seats remain.     Launchpad’s Success Series- Transition Time

    Feeling homesick, overwhelmed, or having a hard time juggling your responsibilities? Maybe you’re adjusting well to college life but you want to be more intentional with time. Change can be hard but times of transition can be fun too!

    Join the Launchpad Student Success Center for Transition Time, a drop-in event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7 in the Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room (Room 101). First-year students are invited to try interactive and fun activities to ease the transition process and develop coping skills for the college experience.

    Tennessee Tech’s College of Business will host its bi-yearly Professional Photobooth on Sept. 12th from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in Foundation Hall 217. This event is open to all TTU students. For your convenience, the Photobooth will provide professional clothing and a photographer, allowing you to walk in and be out in fifteen minutes.
