We want to hear from you! Please complete a brief survey to share your ideas for the future of general education at Tennessee Tech. General Education consists of the 41 credit hours of required courses that undergraduate students take as part of earning a Tech degree.

The survey – which opens today and closes on Friday, March 8 – will take less than 10 minutes to complete, and the results will inform the discussion about what general education will look like for future students.

Reminder: Nominations for the 2024 Derryberry Award due March 4
The 2024 Derryberry Award nomination deadline is Monday, March 4. This award was established in honor of the late Everett Derryberry after 34 years as president of Tennessee Tech. This prestigious honor grants a plaque and cash award to a graduating senior who demonstrates a high level of scholastic achievement and successful campus involvement in leadership and enrichment opportunities. Individuals who graduated in December 2023 or are scheduled to graduate in May or August 2024 are eligible for nomination. Visit https://www.tntech.edu/derryberryaward for more information.

Six Psychology Students Present their Original Research in San Diego
Six psychology students traveled with Dr. Nicole Henniger and Dr. Matthew J. Zagumny to the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) Annual Convention held in San Diego from February 8-10, 2024. The students presented the results of their studies on healthcare avoidance, perfectionism and academic burnout, adverse childhood experiences, belief in cross-partisan empathy, Opioid Use Disorder treatment attitudes, and climate policy messaging. Join us for the Psychology Club meeting at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 21, in Daniel Hall 209, when the students will share their research and conference experience. Pizza will be provided. The purpose of these non-instructional assignments is multifaceted. They aim to contribute to the professional growth of faculty, improve teaching and curriculum across the University, and/or enhance the scholarship and academic excellence of the University in ways that cannot be achieved within the constraints of regular workload assignments.
