Graduate Assistant — The Center for Rural Innovation
TCRI is hiring a Graduate Assistant to support program operations for the Tennessee Rural Fellowship. Responsibilities include building and maintaining workflows/SOPs, templates, and program documents, coordinating calendars, agendas, and notes, organizing shared resources, and assisting with reporting and logistics for meetings, webinars, and communications.
Compensation:$1,200/month + course fee support
Term: Spring 2026 (may be renewable) • Hours: 20/week

TTU’s Football team has made a HUGE Comeback!

The No. 8/9 Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles erupted for 17 points in the fourth quarter to secure a 27–21 victory over Gardner-Webb. With the win, Tech becomes the first team in OVC/Big South Football Association history to open league play with a 6–0 record.

Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Abigail McCall, TTU Physics
The Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar this Friday will be given by TTU physics major Abigail McCall. In Abigail’s talk Simplified Analysis of UCNtau+ Monte Carlo Simulations via an Alternate Geometry, she will describe her work over the summer learning how to run and analyze “Monte Carlo” simulations used to model experiments that employ very low energy “ultracold” neutrons. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210, with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!

The Talon Project Team would like to invite you to the November Pay Frequency Town Hall, where we’ll be sharing important information about the change to a bi-weekly pay frequency for hourly paid employees that will be effective starting December 29th, 2025.

It’s OVC Championship time in Cookeville. Tennessee Tech Soccer will be hosting the OVC Tournament at home this week.
Your Golden Eagles play at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 6, in the semifinal match. Their opponent is TBA.
The Championship match will be on Sunday, November 9, at 4 p.m.

Trouble sending professional emails? Not sure how to write a memo or proposal? WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! NSF NRT-GCR, AI Graduate Fellowship — Spring 2026 Applications Open
The NSF NRT-GCR, AI: Traineeship in the Convergence of AI, Energy, and Cybersecurity is accepting M.S. applications for ECE, CSC, and ME students for the Spring 2026 semester.
Fellowships include tuition, fees, and an annual stipend of $34,000, with the possibility of up to 15 months of support, contingent upon successful progress in coursework and program activities and the availability of funds. Please contact jcwilliams@tntech.edu with any questions!
