Purple Career Readiness Workshop on February 6!
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, February 6, beginning at 11 a.m. in Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room (1st floor) for a Purple Career Readiness Workshop! Employers from Enterprise Mobility, Flex-Tek, and Wilson Sporting Goods will share their tips and advice on how to impress a potential company after graduating college.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card with you to receive credit for attendance.

Succulent Sale on Feb. 13 from 11-1 at Centennial Plaza!
The Psychology and Psi Chi clubs are hosting a succulent sale on Tuesday, February 13 from 11 am – 1 pm at the Centennial Plaza. All proceeds go directly to help cover the costs of attendance at research conferences for psychology students. Succulents will be sold at the price of 1 for $5 or 2 for $8. 2024 Black History Month

Tech will kick off the month-long celebration at the February 1st Men’s and Women’s Basketball games beginning at 5:30 pm at the Hooper Eblen Center. Nursing Faculty Facilitates Critical Care Training in Belize
Last December, Prof. Melissa Geist and Assoc. Prof. Jennifer Mabry led a group of grad and undergrad students on a nursing outreach visit to the village of Punta Gorda, Belize in Central America. The group partnered with START CPR to provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training for 20 doctors and nurses – now certified by the American Heart Association for adult critical care.
In March, Geist’s team plans to return to facilitate the Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) training and certification for the healthcare providers.

Counseling Center Drop-In Group Starting Feb 16th
The Counseling Center will be hosting a Drop-In group built to give space to discuss a variety of issues (life skills, transitioning into and out of college, social skills, and/or whatever topics you bring). Group will run from 12PM-1PM in the Eagle Resource Room (RUC 387) each Friday for the remainder of the semester. Many hands make light work, so let’s work together!

Chemistry Student Iroda Abdullaeva Selected for ACS Student Leadership Award
The Department of Chemistry would like to recognize Iroda Abdullaeva for receiving the American Chemical Society (ACS) 2024 Student Leadership Award. Iroda is a junior pursuing dual degrees in Chemistry and Biology. She is one of the 18 students selected by ACS to receive this award. Recipients are selected from competitive pools of students from around the world based on their leadership skills and they possess the potential to become future leaders within the ACS professional society. As part of her selection Iroda attended the ACS Leadership Institute, which is an invitation-only conference where she attended workshops and networked with ACS leaders from around the world.
