Commuter Lot west of Tucker Stadium to close 6:00 PM Friday evening
The commuter red parking lot located between Tucker Stadium and the Hooper Eblen Center will be CLOSED beginning 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, October 4, 2024 in preparation for Saturday’s football game. Those still parked after 6 p.m. in the lot, will be contacted and/or towed, at their own expense, to the purple parking lot located on the west side of campus across Willow Ave. Donor Lot A, Donor Lot C, and general gameday parking will open on Saturday. Reserved Tailgate Parking in the 98.5 KISS FM Tailgate Lot begins on Saturday unless scheduled through the Athletics Department.

Tech Soccer Hosts Morehead State for Breast Cancer Awareness Match
Your Tennessee Tech Soccer team is set to host the Eagles of Morehead State on Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles will be celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! All fans are encouraged to wear pink and help raise awareness of this devastating disease and its effects. Admission is free for all fans!

Scholarship Application for 2025-2026 Now Open
The TN Tech Scholarship Application for the 2025-2026 academic year is available now through Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024. All students must complete this application in order to be eligible for Tennessee Tech scholarships next year. The Scholarship Office encourages campus offices and departments to help remind students to apply for scholarships. The 2025-2026 Scholarship Application Flyer and digital signs will be available soon. Students can be directed to our website for instructions. Hillis Promoted to UPD Captain
University Police Department recently promoted Lt. Mark Hillis to a Captain rank. Capt. Hillis joined the University Police Department in 2013 as a patrolman and currently has 34 years of law enforcement experience. Capt. Hillis oversees the department’s POST certifications, officer trainings, and the Safe Bar campaign.
Captain Hillis is eager to step into his new role for the betterment of campus and his department.

Gen Ed program review update
During the 2023-24, the Gen Ed Vision Committee gathered information to discern the vision for Tennessee Tech’s general education program. The committee prepared recommendations to guide the new Gen Ed Implementation Committee as it examines and plans for the implementation of a new general education program.
Professors Holly Anthony and Linda Null will co-chair the Gen Ed Implementation Committee.

As you all know, election season is upon us, and we are doing everything we can to raise awareness and increase voter participation. On Thursday, October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., we will have a table set up on Centennial Plaza for voter registration and check voter status. There will also be donuts from Ralph’s Donuts!
This is a great opportunity to inquire about College Dems, meet the officers, grab a donut and register to vote!

Bryan Symphony Concert Season
The Bryan Symphony Orchestra at Tennessee Tech welcomes Chilean pianist Paulina Zamora as guest soloist to kick off the 2024-25 concert season Sunday, October 6th, at 3p.m. A performance of Carlos Chavez’s Sinfonia India will honor Hispanic Heritage Month and composer Robert Jager, Emeritus Professor, will be feted with performances of two of his works in honor of his 85th birthday year. The program also includes works by Mendelssohn and Schumann. Tickets may be purchased at www.bryansymphony.org or before the concert. Box Office opens at 1pm.

Tech Goes Pink! Tuesday, Oct. 1st
Intercultural Affairs and our Ambassadors, the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing, Tennessee Tech‘s Health Services, and the Cookeville Regional Medical Center are all coming together to bring this new event to the campus and community in awareness of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Join us on October 1st during the Heating Up the Quad event to honor and recognize the survivors and those we have lost to this disease. We will have the different organizations and departments with displays and sharing information about prevention and care.
Enjoy the food from the booths at Heating Up the Quad, get some free give away items and t-shirts, and honor those who have impacted.
Join us for a Memorial and Honor Walk that evening at 5 pm at the Quad!
