YuJa Media Tutorial (Replay)
Join us to watch a replay from an earlier session where one of the representatives from YuJa Media will highlight the features of YuJa and demonstrate how to utilize each feature. Topics to be covered include an overview of the platform, how to manage media, uploading media, linking to media, video quizzes, and more. Members of the CITL staff will be available afterward for questions.

CAFÉ Conversations: President’s Cabinet Series
Our first CAFÉ Conversation will take place Wednesday, August 25 with Mark Wilson, the Director of Athletics. During this session, Mark and his team will provide an overview of Athletics and current resources and activities that promote student-athlete success. The conversation will also serve as an opportunity to engage with faculty on how they can partner with Athletics on student success as they work with student-athletes enrolled in their courses.
Coffee, tea, water, and individual snacks will be provided.

Live on the Plaza featuring The Smoky Nights
Wind down after your first day of the fall semester on Thursday, August 19 with some live music on Centennial Plaza! Live on the Plaza is an event series brought to you by the Student Government Association (SGA) S.O.L.O. fund. Make sure to grab your friends and come enjoy some free live energetic music performed by Cookeville’s own, The Smoky Nights! This event will take place from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This Is A Live Music Event Free For Students On Centennial Plaza.

Update: Mail and Print Services
The university recently completed the bid process for the mail and print services contract because the existing contract was reaching end of term. Through this rigorous and informative process, the university has selected two vendors. Canon Solutions of America, Inc. will be contracted to manage the university’s mail services operation (renamed “The Post”) with oversight by Kerri Demeri, Director of Auxiliary Services. RJ Young will manage print services with oversight by Bobbie Maynard, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.
If there are any disruptions in service they will be posted at the location and communicated through Tech Times however, we are all working diligently to make this transition as seamless as possible and look forward to offering you the same great service you have come to expect, as well as future enhancements.

Volunteer with us at the Fall Fun Fest
Sign up to volunteer for Cookeville’s Annual Fall Fun Festival. TN Tech Service Learning Center is heading up the Children’s Inflatable Section and we would love to have some TN Tech students, faculty and staff out there showing their Purple Pride while volunteering. Women’s Equality Day celebration on Thursday, August 26
Celebrate Women’s Equality Day, the day that American women won the right to vote, on August 26. Join the Women’s Center on the RUC Back Porch (behind Swoops) from 11-1 for snacks and giveaways. A display commemorating the 72-year non-violent struggle to pass the Nineteenth Amendment will be on exhibit as well as voter registration information.

Part-Time work opportunity in the Admissions Office!
The Tennessee Tech Admissions Office is looking for some awesome current students to be our STAR callers this semester! You’ll primarily be calling newly admitted students and students who haven’t completed their application, meaning you’re just a happy and excited voice to congratulate them and share your experiences at Tech.
We work Mon-Fri afternoons, 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. It is a paid position where you can work up to 10 hrs. per week!

Center Stage: Khoi Nguyen
Two major civil rights movements of our time are illuminated in a unique intersection of painting, interactive technology, and oral history. These paintings of iconic figures, one of the first black U.S. president and one of the first openly gay elected U.S. official, are formed by the largest collection of fingerprints of civil rights leaders from both movements. The thousands of fingerprints in the images of Barack Obama and Harvey Milk form a collective identity of marginalized sectors of societies. Using A.I., Augmented and Virtual Reality audience can explore the stories behind these fingerprints and get a sense of the enormous gravity it took to move scales of equality.
