  • Counseling Center support during COVID-19

    The counseling center is still available to support students. Students may make an appointment to speak to a counselor via secure Zoom at https://www.tntech.edu/counsel. From there click the link to scheduling appointments. Then follow the directions to click on the Eagle Wellness Portal. In addition our Eagle Eye After Hours Hotline is still available to support students who may be in crisis. Please do not hesitate to reach out- the counseling center is here to support you.

  • CITL Here to Assist Faculty!

    The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) continues to provide support to faculty and departments during the campus transition to delivery of online and alternative delivery of courses. The CITL can advise you on course redesign and development and how to better leverage technology and other educational tools to engage and retain students. The Center can also provide ideas on alternative assessment of student learning outcomes within an online learning environment. The CITL staff, including your College’s or School’s dedicated Online Instructional Designer, are available Monday through Friday 8-4:30 through consultations by phone (931) 372-6950, via iLearn Help Email, or through Virtual Consultations. You can also Email the Center directly as we continuously monitor the CITL Email and respond promptly throughout the day. The CITL also provides frequent updates to the COVID-19 Faculty FAQs related to instruction in an online learning environment.

  • Online Teaching Workshop this Thursday via Zoom!

    The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) announces its last Tech Teaches workshop for the spring semester. Dr. Sandi Smith-Andrews will provide a final workshop in her Online Teaching Series on Thursday, April 9th from 3:00-4:30 pm via Zoom. The focus of this workshop is on Assessments and Rubrics. Join us to discover alternative learning assessments and rubrics available through iLearn. The session link will only be provided to those who have registered in advance. Please REGISTER HERE!

  • Human Resources Notification: EAP

    Your HR team wanted to remind you that if anyone feels that they need additional support during this time, please contact the Employee Assistance Program (toll free 1-800-548-6549) in order to speak with a counselor over the phone or to obtain referrals for counselors in their communities.  This service is available to employees 24 hours per day / 7 days per week.  Additional resources can be obtained through the EAP website, www.here4tn.com.

  • NSF announces deadline and webinars for Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program

    NSF recently announced Aug. 25 as the deadline for Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program proposals. NSF’s Division of Undergraduate Education and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) will offer two 90-minute webinars on preparing the proposals. The webinar for Tracks 1-3 (capacity building) will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. (ET), Tuesday, April 28, and the webinar for Track 4 (research) will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. (ET), Thursday, April 30.

    The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program seeks to encourage talented STEM majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science (including engineering and computer science) teachers. The program encourages creative and innovative proposals that address the critical need for recruiting and preparing highly effective elementary and secondary science and math teachers in high-need local educational agencies.

  • Families First Coronavirus Response Act

    When an employee is unable to work and cannot telecommute, there are several options available to them. Employees may elect to take annual leave or sick leave, as appropriate, or may qualify for leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which provides additional provisions related to Emergency Family & Medical Leave and Emergency Paid Sick Leave.     The Women’s Center and Project AWAKEN are cohosting the e-event “Share Your Self-Care Giveaway” March 30-April 3. Each day, the Women’s Center and Project AWAKEN will post different forms of self-care and encouraging students to post how they practice self-care. Students who post videos or pictures to Facebook or Instagram and tag @TntechWomensCenter and @TNTechAwaken will be entered to win a prize! Opportunities for multiple prize entries will be given.   • Golden Eagle Golf Club offers reduced rates for Tech students for 2020

    Golden Eagle Golf Club offers reduced rates for Tech students for 2020

    Tennessee Tech University students can take advantage of some reduced rates at the Golden Eagle Golf Club for the 2020 golf season.

    Weekday rates for TTU students include $23 for 18 holes and $15 for nine holes. Tech student rates for weekends stand at $25 for 18 holes and $16 for nine holes.

    All prices include a golf cart. All 18-hole rounds earn a stamp on GEGC’s frequent player card as well. When a golfer receives five stamps for playing five, 18-hole rounds, their sixth round is free.

    Memberships are also available on an annual basis, beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31.
