Purple Career Readiness Workshop on Feb. 22: Answering Tough Interview Questions
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Feb. 22, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. Be sure to attend this event as the Center for Career Development will teach you how to answer tough interview questions at this workshop!
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

Eagle Works Business Plans and Financials workshop!
Tyler Asher from the Small Business Development Center will be joining us to give a brief overview on business plans and financials, and answer your questions! We’ll also give a quick refresh on due dates and rules of the competition.
Join us in the iMakerspace at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23!

Center Stage presents Lily Hoang
Center Stage visiting novelist Lily Hoang will be conducting a generative writing workshop, “Mirror, Mirror, Science and Magic,” for campus writers from across campus, Thursday, Feb.24, from 3-4pm, in Henderson 305. No experience is necessary. Sponsored by the Creative Writing program of the English department.
Lily Hoang is the author of five books, including A Bestiary (finalist for a PEN USA Nonfiction Book Award) and Changing (recipient of a PEN Open Books Award). She has been a Mellon Fellow at Rhodes University in South Africa, a Distinguished Visiting Writer at Cornell College, and a Cultural Exchange Faculty Fellow at Wuhan University in China. To date, she has taught creative writing on five continents. She currently teaches in the MFA Program at UC San Diego.

We will feature a different guest speaker each session, giving each 17 mins to present and allowing time for discussion, questions, etc.

“I Heart Tech Students Spotlight”: Tennessee Tech’s Food Pantry
Tech’s Food Pantry ensures students will not have to worry about affording their next meal. Thanks to generous support from the Golden Eagle community in previous “I Heart Tech Students” initiatives, the Food Pantry expanded their hours and purchased a refrigerator to provide healthy options for students facing food insecurity. Additional support will allow the Food Pantry to offer 30 items per client visit, keep the most popular items in stock, and stock additional fresh items in the refrigerator and freezer. When you eat well, you do well.

Debate Showcase on Feb. 22nd!
We will be hosting the first TTU Speech & Debate Showcase on February 22nd at 5pm in the RUC Tech Pride Room. The topic we will be debating is “Should NCAA D1 athletes be paid?” Come watch some of our award-winning debaters as they provide a show of logic and entertainment. This is meant for all students and does not require you to be interested in joining the team. There will be free dinner provided, but feel free to bring your own food and watch the show!
