Rural Reimagined Faculty Resources Webpage
Rural Reimagined (RR) encourages faculty to visit the RR Faculty Resources page, which offers research, grant, funding, and other secondary data resources. Examples of rural-related coursework success stories are available, as well as resource links relating to regional, state, national, and COVID-19 research. Rural Reimagined wants to recognize all rural-related endeavors across campus and encourages faculty who have incorporated RR into their courses or research to share their stories to help inspire the campus community to transform rural living.

Iris Review Submissions are Open Until February 28th!
Tennessee Tech’s literary magazine The Iris Review is now accepting submissions for the Spring 2021 edition through February 28th. The magazine is open to all TTU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Cookeville community, so feel free to spread the word.

AAUP Chapter Meeting on Feb. 10
The Tennessee Tech Chapter of AAUP (American Association of University Professors) will hold its February meeting this Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. through Zoom. AAUP plays a key role in addressing matters of concern for institutions of higher learning around the country, helps to set national policy, and works to preserve shared governance and academic freedom. At Tennessee Tech, our chapter is a voice for everyone, but it’s up to you to join in the conversation. Helps us steer our chapter to be a champion for Tennessee Tech. Join PEP, the Women’s Center & Project Awaken for this semesters Book Club! We are reading “Know My Name” by Chanel Miller. It is an immersive memoir of Miller’s highly publicized sexual assault by Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner, the high-profile court case, and its aftermath. Thanks to the SOLO Fund, students can get a FREE copy of the book by e-mailing tntechpep@gmail.com (while supplies last).
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, February 16th at 11 AM via Zoom. Before the meeting, you are encouraged to read the introduction through chapter 3. Even if you don’t have a chance to read it beforehand, you can still join us! All are welcome!

Continue the One Billion Rising Events on 2/11 with a guided meditation!
In honor of One Billion Rising – a global campaign to end rape & sexual violence – join Project Awaken and the Women’s Center for a FREE guided meditation on the topic of Rising.
The meditation will be led by meditation teacher, Deanna Lack, who is also the lay minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Cookeville, TN. It will be on Thursday, February 11th at 10 A.M. – all are welcome!

Rise Against Power-based Violence with One Billion Rising!
One Billion Rising is the biggest global campaign to end violence against women. Tech community members will come together, rise up, and stand against sexual assault and gender-based violence in all its forms. Join Project AWAKEN, PEP and the Women’s Center for Tech’s Ninth Rising as we unite with activists worldwide in this effort.
This year, the event is adapted to be a week-long event that everyone can participate in from home! To participate, submit any form of artistic expression (such as a painting, drawing, poetry, or video) related to OBR, rising, healing, or support for survivors.
Need artistic ideas? Stop by the table display in the RUC lobby for ideas, coloring pages, and “I’m Rising For” signs, participate with one of these, or create your own art piece. Submissions can be sent to awaken@tntech.edu by 2/13 (a picture of the submission is fine). ALL submissions win a prize!!

Blood Drive on Wednesday, 10 am to 4 pm
The blood supply in Putnam County is at a critically low level right now. Supplies are desperately needed! For every unit of blood donated by one person, three lives can be benefitted! In order to help alleviate this demand, Alpha Phi Omega at Tennessee Tech is sponsoring a Blood Drive on the MAIN QUAD from 10 am to 4 pm on Wednesday, February 10.

Human Ecology Friday Cafe Spring 2021
Friday Café is the hands-on learning experience for foods and nutrition students in Human Ecology. Menus are posted on Marketplace and on the Human Ecology Friday Café webpage. This spring semester students will utilize vegetables grown at Shipley Farm. Dates will be Feb 12, Feb 19, Apr 9, Apr 16 and Apr 23. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Friday Café will serve only five meals this semester. All meals will be a carryout option only. There will be three time pick-up options each week (11:45 am, 12:00 pm, and 12:15 pm) with a limit of 10 meals for each time slot. Meals will be available for pickup inside the front door of Oakley Hall. Meal purchase is made through Marketplace by making prepayment by noon on Wednesday. Meal cost will be $8. Contact the Human Ecology office at 372-3157 with any questions.
