Tennessee Legislative Internship Program
Tennessee Legislative Internship Program- Applications due Tuesday October 8th
Apply to participate in a full-time paid internship in the Tennessee General Assembly in Nashville for the Spring 2025 semester. You will experience the state legislative process hands on, gain valuable expertise in state government, build relationships with state leaders, all while earning academic credit! All majors welcome to apply.

Rotaract Meeting Sept. 19th

The Rural Reimagined Faculty Grant Program offers TN Tech faculty members the opportunity to secure up to $20,000 in research funding for addressing rural challenges. Commuter Lot west of Tucker Stadium to close 6:00 PM Friday evening
The commuter red parking lot located between Tucker Stadium and the Hooper Eblen Center will be CLOSED beginning 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, September 20, 2024 in preparation for Saturday’s football game. Those still parked after 6 p.m. in the lot, will be contacted and/or towed, at their own expense, to the purple parking lot located on the west side of campus across Willow Ave. Donor Lot A, Donor Lot C, and general gameday parking will open on Saturday. Reserved Tailgate Parking in the 98.5 KISS FM Tailgate Lot begins on Saturday unless scheduled through the Athletics Department.

Peachtree Ave behind Tucker Stadium to close starting Sept. 14, 2024
The portion of Peachtree Avenue running behind the east side of Tucker Stadium will be CLOSED beginning Saturday, September 14th through Sunday, December 1st, 2024. Both access to the road and parking lot on the east side of Tucker Stadium will remain closed during this time to accommodate football game day operations related to visiting team locker rooms, ticketing, parking, etc.
The Golden Eagle football team hosts Tennessee State on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. CT for its first home and Ohio Valley Conference opener. For ticket information, contact the Tennessee Tech Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center or call 931-372-3940. Tickets are also on sale online at TTUsports.com.

Native Plant Rescue 2024
Please join us for a second chance to help us dig up plants for safe keeping in the Biology Department’s Native Plant Garden (between Johnson and Pennebaker Halls, 1100 North Dixie Ave). In exchange, you can take home free plants for your own garden. We will have baked goods, botanical art, and houseplants for sale also! Date: Saturday September 28, from 9 am to 3 pm; rain date October 5th. Please bring your own tools and pots for digging. If you have any questions, please email skrosnick@tntech.edu. The Cookeville community is welcome – please help us spread the world. Hope to see you there!

Eagle Recovery Community
Please join us at The Center for Addiction Prevention and Support for peer support recovery meetings! Eagle Recovery Community Meetings will be held every Monday at 6pm and Thursday at 7pm throughout the fall semester. These meetings are intended for any young adult (18-29 years of age) and who are in or seeking recovery from addictions and/or mental health issues.
Location: TTU Regions Building – 10 W. Broad Street, Cookeville TN – on the 3rd floor.

Guest Author Stacey Levine
Center Stage welcomes author Stacey Levine on Thursday, September 19 at 7 p.m. at the Backdoor Playhouse.
Stacey Levine is the author of five books of uniquely original voice-driven fiction. Her novel MICE 1961, concerns a young woman bullied for her albinism during the Cold War era. Levine’s short fiction collection MY HORSE AND OTHER STORIES won a PEN Fiction Award; THE GIRL WITH BROWN FUR, longlisted for The Story Prize, was also shortlisted for the Washington State Book Award, and her novel FRANCES JOHNSON was also shortlisted for the Washington State Book Award.

WEST Workshop 9/17: The Writing Process and Revision
Is this the semester when you stop letting your first draft be your final draft? Does your instructor keep telling you to revise your work, and you’re just not sure what they want? WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! On Tuesday, 9/17, we will host a dead hour workshop on the writing process and revision strategies. We will talk about organization, how to see your work with new eyes, and how to revise your papers like a professional writer. The workshop will be in Henderson Hall 304B. No registration is required, and all are welcome! And if you can’t make the workshop, schedule a a one-on-one session at our website. We look forward to working with you!

TN Tech Construction Management Career Fair 2024
Join the Center for Career Development for the Construction Management Career Fair. This fair will be held on Tuesday, September 17th from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Gym B in the Academic Wellness Center.
Make sure to visit us in RUC 328 to get your resume reviewed and learn valuable tips and tricks to prepare for the fair.
Students should come dressed to impress and have their Eagle Card to obtain a personalized name tag. This event counts towards Gold and Purple Career Readiness Certification!
