Launchpad Success Series Workshop- Good Student Habits 101
Are you tired of feeling stuck in a rut, struggling to break free from old habits? Do you dream of becoming the best version of yourself but find it challenging to create lasting change?
Starting new habits that stick doesn’t have to be hard. In this workshop, we’ll take a look at the habits that are guiding our lives and learn how to add new ones that lead to a more successful college career.

Planned Giving Office presents “Understanding Different Retirement Strategies”
The Tennessee Tech Office of Planned Giving presents our fall seminar “Understanding Different Retirement Strategies” on Tuesday, October 22, at 5:30 p.m. in Lab Science Commons 1211. Justin Turney of Turney Financial Group will present, and light refreshments will be provided. Justin will provide valuable insights into different retirement strategies, helping you to make informed decisions for your future. Whether you are planning for retirement or looking to optimize your current strategy, this session will offer practical advice and guidance. CyberEagles: Federal Government Alum Speaker
CyberEagles will be hosting a Tennessee Tech alum and CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service recipient, Darren Cunningham. Darren is from Nashville, Tennessee, who graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a concentration in cybersecurity at Tech. He has been working for the federal government for 5 years as an IT professional with experience in both offensive and defensive security. The meeting is at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, in Prescott Hall 215. Food will be provided.

Child Development Lab Costume Parade 2024
The Child Development Lab invites you to participate in our annual Costume Parade. Each October, the children and families from the CDL march through campus and around the quad, collecting treats along the way! Individuals, office teams, departments, or campus groups are invited to participate by completing the form (https://forms.office.com/r/N7fRxskvva) to reserve a table. Participants are encouraged to dress up and decorate their table. Once the children arrive at the quad they will stop at each table to collect treats. Thank you for helping to make this event a success!

Graduate Chemistry Club Bake Sale Oct 10
The Graduate Chemistry Club (GCC) will be holding a bake sale in the south atrium of the Laboratory Science Commons on Thursday, Oct 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a variety of baked goods available and we accept cash and card. Funds raised go toward helping support registration expenses for graduate students to present their research at national conferences. Tech Women’s Basketball to Host Annual Biscuits & Basketball Event
The Tennessee Tech Basketball team will be hosting their annual Biscuits & Basketball event on Saturday, October 12 at the Hooper Eblen Center.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for fans to meet the team and get autographs. The Golden Eagles will participate in their fundraiser “Maintain the Tradition” at 11:00 a.m. where each player will shoot 100 free throws. Fans can pledge any amount for each free throw made by a specific player. There will be biscuits and beverages provided by Chick-fil-A and East Spring Gulf while supplies lasts. This event is free and open to the public!

HR and Payroll Office Changes
Due to the renovation of Derryberry Auditorium, there will be some temporary office changes and limited access to HR and Payroll. Starting Monday, October 21, HR offices will be relocated to Derryberry Hall, Room 121, in the first-floor hallway.
Employees needing to get to the Payroll office can go to room 121 and receive assistance in gaining access. While full HR services (e.g., benefits, I9s, Direct Deposits, W4s, etc.) will be available during this temporary relocation, space will be limited, so employees are encouraged to maximize online/digital resources. The temporary office relocation is estimated to be in place through the end of November, and communications will be sent out when the HR and Payroll offices return to their regular locations.
