    YuJa Media Information Session

    Now that we have begun the transition to YuJa Media, you can learn how YuJa provides courses with media tools to take them to the next level. In this session, Drs. Beach and Norman will provide an overview of YuJa, including how YuJa compares to Kaltura, general how-to instructions, and how to best use this type of technology in your courses. There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the session.

    Starting June 15—WE NEED ALL STUDENTS AND FACULTY TO SELECT THE YUJA MEDIA LINK TO CREATE THEIR ACCOUNT.

    This is critical in the migration of videos from Kaltura to YuJa. Creating your account will allow YuJa to put your current videos into a folder in your YuJa account.

Dr. Arce has dedicated the bulk of his career to identifying the best practices, models, and guidelines to assist in transforming the traditional engineering curriculum with the goal of forming new facilitators of learning, effectively leading to the new type of engineer. Rural Reimagined congratulates his effort, along with the College of Engineering, to develop interest in offering various opportunities for students to grow through entrepreneurial mindset programs within both the university sector and our surrounding rural areas.   • Alumni Association celebrates 100th anniversary with free event June 12

    Alumni Association celebrates 100th anniversary with free event June 12

    All Tennessee Tech faculty, staff, students, families and friends are invited to join us on Tech’s Main Quad on Saturday, June 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as we celebrate the Alumni Association’s 100th anniversary! This free, family-friendly event will have something for everyone: bounce houses, a balloon artist, contests, lawn games, door prizes, and more! Free cupcakes and giveaways will be provided for the first 100 guests, and food will be available for purchase. There will be a contest to choose the person showing the most Tech Pride, so be sure to wear your purple and gold. No registration is required, and you’re welcome to drop by and stay as long as you’d like. In the case of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved inside Memorial Gym. You won’t want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime event!

  • Call for Proposals for Open Educational Resources (OERs) grant for faculty

    TnTech has received a $30,000 TBR grant to increase equity in access to quality, no/low-cost educational materials.  The grant money will help train faculty and provide a faculty stipend ($2700) for transitioning courses from traditional textbooks to using OERs (Open Educational Resources.) Faculty interested in receiving this grant-sponsored training and stipend to switch their course from a traditional textbook to free OERs need to submit an application proposal by June 30, 2021.

    Budget Office training sessions for June have been scheduled if anyone is interested! Below is a brief description of each training:

    General Budget Training: This training gives a big picture overview of the university budget, Banner screens, and budget revisions. This training is required for signature authority on budget revisions.

    Budget Banner Screen Training: This training focuses specifically on the Banner screens frequently used for budgeting purposes.

    Budget Shadow System Training: This training focuses specifically on our Shadow System Template.
