    If you’re looking for a new professional outfit or are in the thrifting mood, come visit the Professional Readiness and Leadership Center’s  annual Suits2Cheap Sale Monday, October 4, through Thursday, October 7! We’re open 9-1 in JH 425 and are putting out new items DAILY! Suits, jackets, and dresses are $2. Everything else is $0.50! We accept cash and card!

  • Sick Leave Bank Enrollment – Faculty & Staff

    The annual enrollment period for Faculty and Non-Faculty Sick Leave Banks is October 1 through October 31, 2021. If you are already a sick leave bank member, you do not need to re-enroll.

    Please complete your enrollment form via DocuSign at Sick Leave Bank Form. Your form must be received by 4:30 pm on October 31, 2021. Please note that if you do wish to participate, the assessment will be fifteen (15.0) sick leave hours for full-time employees (prorated for permanent, part time). This will be deducted from your November Leave Report which will be turned in at the first of December.

    NOTE: You may receive sick leave donations from other employees only if you are a sick bank member. Since the beginning of the program in 1989, there has not been a need to require more than the initial assessment of 15 hours for each full-time member.

  • December Graduates your cap and gown is now available!

    December Graduates your cap & gown is now available for pick up. Distribution will begin with Grad Fair in the Tech Pride Room on the following dates.

    October 5th 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    October 6th 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

    If  you are unable to attend Grad Fair you will be able to pick up your cap & gown in the University Store beginning Monday, October 11th through graduation. University Store hours are  Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Sunday CLOSED

    If you need your cap & gown shipped beginning Monday, October 11th you may request shipping from the following website

  • Tech Wars Presents: Tech’s Got Talent (Visual Arts Edition)

    Tech Wars Presents: Tech’s Got Talent (Visual Arts Edition)

    On October 14, 2021 Residential Life’s Tech Wars Team will host a gallery-style event for all of campus in order to display TN Tech’s creative visual arts talent.  This will be held in the main lobby of the RUC at 11 am (until 12:30pm).

    The categories are as follows:

    Photography

      • (color or black and white)

    Black and White Art

      • (charcoal, graphite, etc.)

    Colored  Art 

      • (oils, pastels, colored pencil, henna, etc.)

    Sculpture

      • (glass, fiber, metal, wood, clay, etc.)

    Graphic Design

      •  –

    this category will design a logo for the TN Tech Food Pantry. The winning submission may have their logo featured on new aprons for food pantry staff.

    ***There will also be a “People’s Choice” Award we will facilitate online, after the gallery event.

    We would love it if you would submit your art to our gallery event.  Anyone affiliated with TN Tech can submit.

    After a slow start to this semester we can finally kick off the first English Club meeting! This semester, it is in person! It will be on Tuesday October 5th, starting at 11:00 AM. It will be in Henderson Hall room 216A. Come on over and hang out with us. This is not limited to English Majors, anyone can attend.

    We are 6 weeks into the fall semester. That means it is time for the Bookstore to start looking forward to the Spring semester. We will begin returning unsold fall semester books October 11th. If you still need a book for your fall class please come in and purchase it now. If a book has been returned and you need it for class please let an employee know and the book can be ordered for you.

    The Computer Science Graduate Student Club is back with a brand-new seminar series this Fall 2021. Mahmoud Abouyoussef, a Computer Science Ph.D. student, will be talking about his research titled “Blockchain-based Networking Strategy For Privacy-Preserving Demand Side Management”.

    The research seminar is scheduled on Monday, October 4th from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in Bruner Hall 410.

  • International Jobs and Careers Panel

    On Wednesday, October 6, the Tennessee World Affairs Council will host an international jobs and careers panel, from 5:30-7 pm on Zoom.  This panel will give you a chance to get career tips and advice from 5 different people working in the international arena.

    The panelists include a former Peace Corps volunteer, a diplomat, two people with experience in international development, and a former defense intelligence specialist.
