Wilma Carr scholarship applications are being accepted for the 2021-2022 award year through Dec. 15. Qualified applicants are current students who are survivors of domestic violence, “child abuse or other unfortunate situation” and are in good standing with the university. NAACP Food and Clothing Drive
The TTU student chapter of the NAACP will host a food and clothing drive for a local shelter. Please bring any items for donation to the RUC main floor lobby. The NAACP will collect donated items on the following dates and times:
Tuesday, Nov. 16th between 11 a.m. and noon
Wednesday, Nov. 17th from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 18th between 11 a.m. and noon.

Tornado Drill Scheduled Nov. 23, 2021
Tennessee Tech University will conduct a tornado drill Tuesday November 23, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., barring inclement weather. The drill is an important exercise that allows the Tennessee Tech community to test its readiness in the case of emergency conditions.
The sequence of the drill:
11:30 a.m.
A tornado “warning” message will be issued via:
- text alert
- emergency alarm systems
- digital signage (Main campus only)
- broadcast e-mail to University faculty, students and staff
- outdoor sirens (Main campus only)
- broadcast intercom systems in select buildings (Main campus only)
Once the tornado “warning” message is received, all members of the campus community should quickly and safely evacuate to the designated areas within each respective building.
11:45 a.m.
Wait for the “All Clear” to be issued. Once the all clear has been declared you may resume normal operations.

Survivor Africa Winner Ethan Zohn to Speak On Campus
Join us on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. in Derryberry Auditorium in welcoming Survivor Africa winner Ethan Zohn. Ethan is a former contestant on the CBS hit shows The Amazing Race and Survivor, winning Survivor Africa and playing Survivor All Stars and Survivor Winners at War. Ethan will be inspiring students and the campus community with a discussion on his experiences as not only a winner of one million dollars, but as a cancer survivor and his charitable work. His presentation on “Surviving the Amazing Race of Your College Experience” will challenge students to use their time in the college to make a valuable contribution to their personal development and the community around them. He will encourage students to approach obstacles as opportunities for growth and to create a lasting legacy on campus through authentic relationships, leading by example and serving others. This event is sponsored by the Student Government Association SOLO fund.

QPR Gatekeeper Training
Please join the TN Tech Counseling Center for Question, Persuade, Refer Gatekeeper training for suicide prevention. QPR is intended to teach individuals on how to recognize warning signs of suicide and use the QPR framework to assist those individuals in getting appropriate help. This gatekeeper training will be held on November 18th at 11:00am in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (Room 282). iMakerSpace Open House + Pancakes
Come visit the iMakerSpace in Volpe Library 348 from 11am to 12pm on November 18th to enjoy some pancakes and see some of the cool things the iMakerSpace has to offer! You will be able to design and “print” your own pancakes via the PancakeBots in the space! In addition to 3D printing pancakes, we will have open demonstrations of 3D scanning objects for 3D printing and laser cutting keychains with our GlowForge Pro.
