WEST Workshop 11/6: Business and Professional Writing!
Trouble sending professional emails? Not sure how to write a memo or proposal? WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! On Thursday, 11/6, we will be leading a dead hour workshop on business and professional writing, focusing on those specific genres. The workshop will be in Henderson Hall 304B, from 11:00-11:50. No registration is required, and all are welcome. If you can’t make the workshop, come for a one-on-one session with one of our consultants. For availability and scheduling, check out our website. NSF NRT-GCR, AI Graduate Fellowship — Spring 2026 Applications Open
The NSF NRT-GCR, AI: Traineeship in the Convergence of AI, Energy, and Cybersecurity is accepting M.S. applications for ECE, CSC, and ME students for the Spring 2026 semester.
Fellowships include tuition, fees, and an annual stipend of $34,000, with the possibility of up to 15 months of support, contingent upon successful progress in coursework and program activities and the availability of funds. Please contact jcwilliams@tntech.edu with any questions!

Hot Chocolate Reindeer Pre-Sale Fundraiser Nov 4 – 14
The Student Members of the American Chemical Society will be pre-selling Hot Chocolate Reindeer (hot chocolate mix and marshmallows- each reindeer makes approximately three cups of hot chocolate) through our Square Store from Nov 4-14. We will deliver them to your Tech mailbox (for students) or office (for faculty and staff) on Dec 1. One reindeer is $2 or you can buy 3 for $5. You will be contacted via email after you order to determine your delivery location. These make cute gifts and we can add a note if you’d like! Any questions can be sent to smacsttu@gmail.com.

Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Cricket Bergner, TTU Physics
TTU Physics major Cricket Bergner will give the Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar this Friday. Cricket spent the summer working with scientists at ORNL and General Atomics who focus on nuclear fusion for energy production. In her talk Sheath-Driven Impurity Modeling for Helicon Wave Operation in DIII-D Using the STRIPE Suite, Cricket will describe her summer experience, what she learned about controlled nuclear fusion, and the research she conducted. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210, with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!

Wilmore Way Grand Opening!
You are invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of Wilmore Way (formerly Peachtree Ave.), the university’s new pedestrian walkway and plaza.
The walkway’s new name honors Tennessee Tech Alum, NASA astronaut and Board of Trustees member Barry “Butch” Wilmore.
Friday, October 31, 2025 at 2 p.m on Wilmore Way, in front of the Angelo and Jennette Volpe Library (rain location will be the lobby of the library)
