    Womack History Lecture-Tuesday

    The History Department will be holding its annual Womack Lecture on Tuesday, November 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the Stonecipher Lecture Hall, Room 113. W. Todd Groce will present “Which Side Are You On?: Conflicting Loyalties in Civil War East Tennessee.”  The event is free and open to the public.  Please contact the History Department at 372-3332 for more information.

  • Wilmore Way Grand Opening!

    You are invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of Wilmore Way (formerly Peachtree Ave.), the university’s new pedestrian walkway and plaza.

    The walkway’s new name honors Tennessee Tech Alum, NASA astronaut and Board of Trustees member Barry “Butch” Wilmore.

    Friday, October 31, 2025 at 2 p.m on Wilmore Way, in front of the Angelo and Jennette Volpe Library (rain location will be the lobby of the library)

    Limited quantities of free commemorative t-shirts will be given away at the event.

    Graduate Fellowship Opportunities for the Spring and Fall 2026 semesters

    The Engendering the Spirit of Gadugi at the FEW Nexus program is accepting MS and PhD applications for the Spring and Fall 2026 semesters. Fellowships include tuition, fees, and an annual stipend.

    Applications are due by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25 (Spring) and Friday, April 24 (Fall). Application instructions can be found on our website.
