TTU Trombone Choir presents Distance Video Project
The TTU Trombone Choir is proud to present our spring distance video project with Center Stage Guest Steve Wiest. Wiest is a world renowned jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, and author. He collaborated with us to produce three videos. The first is “Funk This!” by Dr. Joshua Hauser and features members of the Trombone Choir and Dr. Colin Hill, drums. The second is “Flat Black,” by JJ Johnson, arranged by Wiest. The final composition is a new piece by Wiest that was commissioned for Trombones at Tech titled “Intergalactic Haus of Trombone.” Although the original intent was to have performed all of these live during Steve’s residency by our students, we felt that it was important to recognize the many professional musicians throughout the US who have been largely underemployed due to COVID and invited 6 professional trombonists from Nashville, Knoxville, Boston, and NYC to join us for this final selection. French Conversation Hour
The next French conversation hour will take place on Thursday, March 25, from 5-6 pm in Oakley 214. All levels are welcome–from beginner to advanced. This is a great way to practice speaking French, and to meet other French speakers.

Though Celebration of Craft demonstrations and kids’ craft activities will be virtual this year, the Craft Center Gallery 25% sale will be in person, Saturday, April 10, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Be sure to join us for this opportunity to acquire first quality artists’ work at discounted prices! Online Master of Arts in Physical Education Ranked #8 in the Nation by OnlineU

International Jobs and Careers in Diplomacy Panel
On Thursday, March 25, TTU’s Department of Foreign Languages, in conjunction with the Tennessee World Affairs Council, is hosting the once-a-semester International Jobs and Careers Panel, this time with a focus on careers in diplomacy.
This event gives students interested in a diplomatic career the chance to hear from professionals in that field, to get career advice, and to ask questions. The panel will be held from 5:30-6:30 over Zoom, and is free of charge.

Motor Madness Charity Car Show
Omega Phi Alpha invites you for ‘Motor Madness’, a car show fundraiser that benefits the Nashville based charity Soles for Souls. All proceeds from the event will go towards recycling old shoes and donating the new ones to children and adults living in need. The car show will be April 3rd, 2021 from 10:00-3:00 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, located at 155 Fairground St. Adult entry is $5, and children under 5 are free. To enter your car in our show for the potential to win prizes donated by our local auto stores and businesses, it’s an additional $5. Water Week: TNTech Wetlands Cleanup this Saturday, March 27!
In honor of Tennessee Tech’s second annual Water Week (March 22-26), join TTU Water Professionals and Engineers Without Borders as they host a cleanup of the campus wetlands on Saturday, March 27, at 9:00 am. We will meet at the purple parking beside Tech Village and the intramural fields. Please wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing. We will practice social distancing and all cleanup supplies will be provided by the TN Tech Office of Sustainability. #TNTechWaterWeek

Water Week: Creative Writing Contest!
The Office of Sustainability is hosting our first ever Creative Writing Contest for this year’s Water Week (March 22-26)! We are open to all forms of creative writing, such as short stories, plays, poems, comics, etc. The only criteria is that your work must be centered around the theme of WATER and be no longer than 1,000 words! Submissions are due on March 26th. The winner will receive a sustainability gift bag and be featured on our website and social media! Please email submissions to TTUGreen@tntech.edu.

The Rainbow Coalition, Virtual Panel Discussion
Virtual panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Troy Smith, with members of the Rainbow Coalition and representatives for building bridges against social injustice.
