I Heart Tech Students Spotlight: College of Fine Arts
The College of Fine Arts is focused on “value-added experiences” so that students may have a rich, full fine arts experience and take advantage of the many offerings in the mid-south. Field trips will allow students to experience art, music and culture in Nashville, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville and beyond at little or no cost to the student. Many Tech students do not have access to these cities, and arts events are either cost-prohibitive or not easily accessible. Fine Arts students should have a rich experience beyond Cookeville, and field trips offered by the college provide a safe way to travel together, an experienced guide for events and tours and a safe way to return to campus.

APO Interest Sessions
Alpha Phi Omega will be hosting two interest sessions tomorrow, Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Session 1: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM LSC 1211 (Pictionary)
Session 2: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM LSC 1211 (Trivia Night – Jackbox)
Please join us for a day of fun! Food and refreshments will be provided at both events. Come show off your artistic abilities during dead hour, and then test your mental merit in an all out trivia battle during our evening event. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Alpha Phi Omega is Co-Ed Service Organization based on the Cardinal Principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. 2021 1095C Availability
Electronic 1095Cs are now available online
Review your Electronic 1095C – First log into TechExpress (https://express.tntech.edu). Select “Eagle” button from the Quicklinks area. This will take you to Eagle Online. Select the Employee tab, and your 1095C is located under Tax Forms.
Paper 1095Cs were mailed March 1st for employees who did not consent to receiving the electronic version. Employees who wish to receive 1095Cs electronically in the future can select Electronic Regulatory Consent in Tech Express under Tax Forms. We encourage employees to select Electronic Regulatory Consent as it reduces the risk of others obtaining your personal information through mail theft.

English Club Presents a Talk With Dr. Erin Hoover

This Thursday the English Club is hosting a talk with our new Professor Dr. Erin Hoover whom teaches the Creative Writing Poetry and Creative Writing Essay classes. She will give a presentation on poetry. This meeting is held in Henderson Hall 216A this Thursday March 3rd at 11:00 AM and open to all majors. Come on in, listen to what she has to say and help give her a warm welcome to Tennessee Tech.

Tennessee Tech advisors attend regional conference
Representatives of Tennessee Tech’s academic advising community attended the 2022 NACADA Region 3 conference, held February 21-23, in Knoxville, TN. Conference participants interacted with colleagues from Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina in the first in-person Regional conference since 2019.
Advisors shared knowledge, experiences, and research in more than 40 sessions throughout the conference, including three presentations by Tennessee Tech advisors:

Dear College Freshman received “Best of Region” recognition and may represent Region 3 at the national NACADA conference in October 2022 in Portland, OR.

The EXPW Department is hosting a free 5- week swim clinic for faculty, staff & adult community members starting in March at the Memorial Gym Pool. Are you a beginner looking to learn to swim or a good swimmer looking to improve? There will be both a beginner clinic and an advance clinic offered each day. 2 convenient days to choose from including:

Gold/Purple Career Readiness PART TWO Meetups on Mar. 2 presented by Don Asher
Dr. Donald Asher is an internationally recognized author and speaker on the topics of careers and higher education. In media, he has been called “America’s Job Search Guru.” Asher assists C-level executives with career transitions and works with MBA and graduate programs nationwide. He recently served as the content architect for Elites Optimization Services (EOS). His career books include the ground-breaking “Cracking the Hidden Job Market”. He has also written “The Overnight Resume” and “Who Gets Promoted” (named career management book of the year).
Both events will take place on Wednesday, Mar. 2, in the Derryberry Auditorium and count towards Part Two of the Purple or Gold Career Readiness application.
