Tech launches new podcast: “College Town Talk”
Tennessee Tech has launched a new podcast in partnership with the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors Bureau titled “College Town Talk.” Each week, hosts Jonathan Frank and Shan Stout introduce listeners to Tech faculty, staff and students – as well as successful Tech alumni, local business owners and civic leaders – who are making a difference and living Wings Up in their community.
Episodes 1 and 2 are now available, featuring interviews with Cookeville Mayor Laurin Wheaton, Tech Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Rob Owens, Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson, and Soul Craft Coffee owner Anna Dunn. Limited Pantry Access – 2 Weeks – Maintenance
Due to unexpected maintenance in the building, the food pantry will not be able to open full time until September 11, 2023.
However, to serve our students, we will provide full service 2 days a week at limited hours, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8am to 2pm as long as we are able to remain in the building. We will provide updates as things unfold. Thanks for your patience during this temporary circumstance.

Welcome Back Part-Time Job Fair on August 24
Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, August 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Centennial Plaza for our first job fair of the semester! If it rains, the fair will be moved inside to the Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room (1st floor.) This fair is for anyone seeking a part-time position while attending class this semester. ALL majors and ALL students are invited speak with local employers seeking Tech students for part-time opportunities! All majors are invited to participate to learn more about career opportunities with over 20 employers!

Let’s talk Gen Ed on Monday, Aug. 28
The first General Education Vision Committee town hall meeting for faculty, staff and administrators will be held on Monday, Aug. 28, at 9 a.m. in the RUC Tech Pride Room.
This is an opportunity to share your ideas for the future direction and vision of Tech’s general education curriculum. Let us know what skills and knowledge Tennessee Tech graduates should have to best prepare them for their intended careers and their future as informed citizens of the state, region, nation and world. We want to hear from you!
Light refreshments will be provided.

United Cleanup Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR) is the DOE Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management’s lead environmental cleanup partner. After safely removing the last of the legacy facilities from East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP)—the former Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant—the company’s highly trained workforce is removing unused, contaminated facilities at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Y-12 National Security Complex, while continuing remedial actions at ETTP.

Purple Career Readiness Workshop on August 22!
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, August 22, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for the first Purple Career Readiness Workshop of the semester! Mr. Russ Coughenour, Center for Career Development Director, will teach you about NACE Career Ready Skills, which are sure to impress a potential employer.
