Submissions for Tennessee Tech’s very own student-edited literary magazine, the Iris Review, are open Feb. 1-15. Whether you make poems, prose, or visual art, go to our website to learn how to send us your work for publication. Printed each spring, the Iris Review is open to writers and artists of any experience level and can serve as a great starting ground for getting your work out there. Adulting 1010 Support Group
Are you a senior about to graduate college and have no idea how to be an adult? Are you still trying to balance the demands of being a college student while also navigating interpersonal relationships, jobs, classes, and whatever else is on your plate? Ever feel like you have no idea what you’re doing? Let’s figure it out together! The Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness is offering a support group called “Adulting 1010” to connect with others who may be feeling the same way you are and processing this next season of life. This group will begin meeting on Fridays at 3:00pm, starting February 7th in the RUC, room 387. Please contact counsel@tntech.edu if you are interested!

Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Dr. Mohammadreza Zakeri, EKU
The first Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar of the semester will be this Friday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210. (Snacks will be served starting at 3:30pm.) The speaker will be Dr. Mohammadreza Zakeri from Eastern Kentucky University. In his talk Pulsars as Laboratories for Fundamental Physics, Dr. Zakeri will show how the search for new physical laws isn’t confined simply to terrestrial laboratories, but precision tests are also possible via astrophysical observation of exotic objects. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!

UCHRA Shuttles to Run To Downtown
The UCHRA Shuttles that run around our campus are getting an upgrade and they need your help! The shuttles are completely free to use for anyone on Tennessee Tech campus. Tennessee Tech University has extended shuttle hours on Wednesdays to the Regions Bank on West Broad Street. The shuttles will run students down and pick them up from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. At 7:00pm there will only be one shuttle on campus to take people there and pick them up. They are hoping to soon have a designated shelter along with this program becoming more frequently, but only if enough people know and use the service.

The Qualitative Research Community of Practice (QCoP) is designed to be an interdisciplinary group of Tennessee Tech faculty who are interested researchers, scholars, and practitioners focused on qualitative research methods.
