    Plants Rock!

    October is Sustainability Month, and to celebrate The Office of Sustainability will be hosting our Plants Rock event! Come join us on The Quad this Thursday, Oct. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to build your own self-watering planter from a recycled plastic bottle and/or paint a rock with words of encouragement. We hope to see you there!

    Hispanic Heritage Month Mini-Week

    Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us!

    Join our Familia as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with three days of events, Oct. 6- 8!

    For Game Night we will have Latin American favorite games such as Loteria and Dominos as well as other games such as Monopoly and Super Smash Bros.

    Come make a real flower bouquet, paint a tote bag, or paint a mini canvas with us!

    Join us for our last event on the history of Latin American immigration to the United States with Dr. Laura Smith. Free food and drinks will be provided at the workshop!

    Intercultural Affairs is currently hosting a business clothing donation drive from September 30th , – Friday, October 9th, 2026. Donation boxes are set up in Clement Hall, Roaden University Center, TJ Farr, and Memorial Gym for you to leave gently used or new business/business casual clothing or bring it by RUC Room 258.     Oct. 1 Careers n’ Coffee with Memphis Teacher Residency

    Take a break and enjoy a FREE cup of hot coffee while speaking with recruiters from Memphis Teacher Residency (MTR) on Thurs, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. in the RUC’s Swoops Food Court.

    MTR is a faith-based nonprofit organization that trains prospective teachers in a year-long residency model through graduate courses, classroom internship, and personalized coaching.

  • Dr. Mari Ramler Accepted to Human Sexuality Intensive at the Kinsey Institute

    Dr. Mari Ramler Accepted to Human Sexuality Intensive at the Kinsey Institute

    Dr. Mari Ramler, associate professor of English, has been accepted to, and awarded scholarship funding for, the Kinsey Institute’s Human Sexuality Intensive (May 12-15, 2027). She will receive specialized training on how technology trends affect how society views sex as well as conduct archival research at the Kinsey Institute Library and Special Collections as she works on her third book. This new book project argues that purity culture is a harmful ideology that manifests through emergent technology. Case studies include AI, OnlyFans, and the “manosphere,” among others. She has previously edited a book about purity culture (published by Penn State University Press) and written a book about religious trauma (under review at Baylor University Press).
