    Alpha Phi Omega Spring Recruitment — First Info Meeting

    Alpha Phi Omega at Tennessee Tech is starting its spring recruitment next week. We are currently an extension group looking to obtain our charter and are looking for any student interested in community service opportunities and developing leadership skills to join as charter members. Alpha Phi Omega is the largest, co-educational intercollegiate service organization in the United States, with international chapters in the Philippines and Canada, and over 500,000 members since 1925. Some of the projects that the group has done sin the past year includes a tornado relief drive, card-making for senior citizens and first responders, and a blood drive in November collecting almost 50 pints of blood for the local community.

    We will be meeting on Tuesday, February 2 at 7:00 pm in the new Laboratory Science Commons, room 1201  (to the right of Einstein Bagels as you enter the building from the front). The meeting will also be available on Zoom if that is more convenient for some people:

    L.A.R.P. Club Meetings this Semester!

    Hello Adventurer!

    The TTU L.A.R.P. Club will be hosting its regular meetings on Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00pm – 5:00pm in Sherlock Park. Meetings are open to all TTU students, faculty, and staff. The themes of the meetings are typically combat with foam weapons in both an individual and team-based fashion. Garb is encouraged (e.g. tunics, plain neutral pants, boots, armor, etc.) and can be historically or fantastically based. The club provides weapons for members to use, but feel free to bring your own L.A.R.P. weapon for us to check. All you have to bring is water, gloves, PPE, and an attitude for adventure!

    First Speech & Debate Practice of February

    Join the TTU Speech & Debate Team for the first February meeting on 02/01/2021. We meet every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm in Henderson 004, so if you can’t come to this meeting, join us when you can!

    The team is a great way to build your resume, make professional and personal connections, improve your speaking skills, and have a positive and fun college experience. The team may be of particular interest to communication, political science, psychology/sociology, and education majors, though ALL are welcome!

    ASME will be hosting the Center for Career Development at our first meeting of the semester on Thursday, February 4th in Brown Hall Rooms 236 & 237 during Dead Hour. Information regarding the upcoming career fair will be shared along with information about the new Resume books that are being passed out to employers. Updates on competition teams to be shared as well. Zoom link is availiable in the ASME GroupMe for those that want to attend virtually.
