Flower & Gift Fund 2026
All faculty, administrative staff, and clerical/support staff are automatically enrolled in the University Faculty and Staff Flower and Gift Fund. Members may choose to contribute $15 annually through payroll deduction. Deductions will occur Oct. 23 for biweekly employees and Oct. 30 for monthly employees. Current participants in the payroll deduction do not need to re-enroll. New employees can access the Flower Fund DocuSign on the Payroll website under Payroll Forms. Provost Mickey Latour joins Tech’s “College Town Talk” podcast
Provost Mickey A. Latour joined Tech’s “College Town Talk” podcast this week for a wide-ranging interview. In our conversation, Dr. Latour tells us why Tech was the right fit after an already successful more than 30-year career in higher education, including at universities in Indiana, Illinois and Arkansas.
He also tells us about a memorable first-day experience that captured the spirit of Tech and the story behind a special keepsake in his office honoring his late mother. Later in the interview, Dr. Latour talks about the book he is reading alongside Tech’s deans and the surprising (and selfless) hobby he picked up many years ago that he continues today.

Recycled Materials Art Contest
Sustainability Month is right around the corner, and one of the ways the Office of Sustainability is celebrating is with the Recycled Material Art Contest! You can participate by submitting a piece of art made with recycled medium. Submissions are due by Monday, October 12th and will be judged by fellow students at our Sustainability Day Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 13th. Winners will be announced on our social media and prizes awarded on that Friday!

TALON Procurement Module Changes Coming
Talon Procurement Module Changes coming in 26C Release on September 19, 2026. The new release will include the following new functionality:
- View additional Information about Location and Supplier
- View additional Information about Preparers, Requesters, Buyers, and Approvers
- Access Cart Details Directly During Requisition Creation
- Create a Smartform Request without Copying Supplier Details from a Previous Request
- Identify Attachments and Notes on my Requisitions
- Search for Deliver-To Locations Using Additional Attributes in Requisitions
