  • Hot Water Outage May 9-22

    There will be no hot water or steam on campus May 9-22, 2021 during the annual steam system outage.  Natural gas and electric water heaters will continue to operate at Tech Village, New Hall North, Southwest Hall, RUC (for food service only), Lab Science Commons, East Stadium, West Stadium, APC, Foundation Hall, Hooper Eblen and Fitness Center.

    This outage is necessary to perform preventative maintenance, and is scheduled annually following spring commencement to minimize impact on other campus events.

    There will be no hot water or steam on campus Saturday, October 10.  Natural gas and electric water heaters will continue to operate at Tech Village, New Hall North, Southwest Hall, RUC (for food service only), East Stadium, West Stadium, APC, Foundation Hall, Hooper Eblen and Fitness Center.

    This outage is necessary to perform preventative maintenance, and is scheduled annually following spring commencement to minimize impact on other campus events.  Hot Water and steam will be restored on Saturday afternoon.

  • Road Closure – Dixie Avenue

    Road Closure – Dixie Avenue

    Dixie Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, September 21, in front of the University Services Building between 8th Street and 9th Street.  This closure, which is necessary to replace underground steam lines, has been coordinated with local authorities and emergency services.  The gold Parking Lot south of University Services Building will remain open.  This project scheduled completion date is December 20, 2020.

  • Curb to be installed

    Curb to be installed

    A curb is to be installed Monday August 31st through September 2nd on the North row of parking spots between Warf-Ellington and the Stonecipher Lecture Hall.  Vehicles will need to be moved from this row starting Friday afternoon to allow for the machinery to install the curb.  Please make sure you do not leave your vehicle in the row over the weekend.  Your cooperation is appreciated.

  • Road Closures – University and Peachtree

    Road Closures – University and Peachtree

    In an effort to allow students to maintain social distancing while walking in the center of campus, portions of Peachtree Ave and University Dr will be closed to thru traffic (authorized vehicles only).  Stop signs and barriers will be placed in locations that will allow block thru traffic, but maintain access to the Henderson Hall parking lot.

  • Electric Power Outage Thursday, August 11

    Planned maintenance by Cookeville Electric Department will require a utility power loss beginning 4:00 am CDT Thursday, August 11.  This outage is anticipated to last 15 minutes or less.  The main campus has standby generators and should not experience a power loss.  Buildings which will be affected include: Tech Village, Athletic Performance Center, Marc Burnett Student Recreation, Foundation Hall, Varsity Building.

    Departments may choose to turn off sensitive equipment prior to this power outage.

  • University Drive Road Closure

    University Drive Road Closure

    University Drive will be closed Tuesday, August 4th, from Peachtree to Stadium Drive.  This will be for Tuesday only, and will re-open for traffic on Wednesday.

  • Steam and Hot Water Outage Wednesday, July 15

    There will be no hot water or steam on campus Wednesday, July 15.  Steam will be off from midnight until late Wednesday afternoon.  This is necessary to connect equipment in the central steam plant.  Wednesday was selected to minimize impact to SOAR activities.

    Natural gas and electric water heaters will continue to operate at Tech Village, New Hall North, Southwest Hall, RUC (for food service only), East Stadium, West Stadium, APC, Foundation Hall, Hooper Eblen and Fitness Center.

     

  • Volunteers Needed for PPE Distribution

    Volunteers Needed for PPE Distribution

    If you are interested in volunteering to help distribute PPE on campus to students and your department will approve you to help, please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/xnAjErL

    Masks, along with personal bottles of hand sanitizer, will be distributed on:
    • Thursday, Aug. 20
    • Friday, Aug. 21
    • Monday, Aug. 24 (first day of classes)

    The following distribution centers will be located across campus to provide easy access to students:
    • Memorial Gym
    • Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room
    • Volpe Library, Information Desk
    • Hooper Eblen Center Concourse
    • Bryan Fine Arts Lobby

    Queues at the distribution sites should incorporate proper social distancing (6 feet apart).
    Distributors will be expected to wear masks during their volunteer shift.
