    Be a vendor at C&S Staff Day 2026!

    The Staff Advisory Committee to the President is looking for departments interested in joining us at our 6th annual Clerical and Support Staff Day on Friday, August 7, 2026!

    Departments can set up a vendor table where attendees can learn more about resources on campus. C&S Staff Day 2026 will be in Stonecipher Lecture Hall and doors will open at 7:30am for set up with registration starting at 8am. Attendees can browse vendor booths until the 8:45 welcome and during breaks. The event ends around 12 pm. Tables and chairs will be provided for vendors, we just need to know how many seats you’ll need. Tablecloths and and tabletop decorations/items can be from your department, feel free to use your creativity!

    C&S Staff Day 2026 is on Friday, August 7th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in Stonecipher Lecture Hall. Register NOW or before Friday, July 17th to guarantee your free C&S Staff Day 2026 tote bag. The Staff Advisory Committee has planned a half day retreat with guest speakers, vendors, and prizes.     Understanding Nonprofits: Organization and Leadership

    Join us for Session 1 of the CPRS Academy’s “Understanding Nonprofits: Organization & Leadership” credential on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Center for Addiction Prevention & Support. This session, led by Dorian Hines of the Tennessee Nonprofit Network, will provide a practical foundation on how nonprofit organizations function. Participants interested in completing the full credential can sign up to attend two additional online training sessions.

    Registration is open now for this year’s annual Clerical & Support Staff Day on Friday, August 7th! The Staff Advisory Committee have planned a half day (8:00 am-12:00 pm) filled with guest speakers, vendors, and breakfast and refreshments. Free C&S Day tote bags will be given to those who register by the Friday, 7/17 deadline and attend the event. We are asking attendees to support the Michelle Huddleston Memorial Food Pantry and bring a non-perishable food item for donation.     The Staff Advisory Committee to the President is excited to announce they will be hosting the 6th annual C&S Staff Day on Friday, August 7th, 2026! The event will take place from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm in Stonecipher Lecture Hall. Our half day event features guest speakers, vendor tables, giveaways, and breakfast and snacks. This event is for all clerical and support staff across campus and we hope to see you there. Free tote bags will be given to all attendees registered by the deadline!   • Engineering Convergence Bootcamp features student-led “lightning talks”

    Engineering Convergence Bootcamp features student-led “lightning talks”

    Students from disciplines across campus went to “bootcamp” to explore the intersection of energy technologies, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Offered through the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) program, this Engineering Convergence Bootcamp brought together approximately 70 Tech students, faculty and regional high school representatives in the AIEB atrium. Participants rotated through seven student-led lightning talks focused on real-world interdisciplinary challenges, earning a certificate upon completion.

    Organizers behind this successful event included computer science professors Maanak Gupta, PI, and Doug Talbert, co-PI; chemistry lecturer Twanelle Majors, project coordinator; associate professor of electrical and computer engineering Charles Van Neste, faculty advisor; and curriculum and instruction lecturer Marlana Lastres, project evaluator.

  • Dr. Murat Atasoy – SOES Seminar 5/5/26

    Please join the School of Environmental Studies as we conclude our Assistant Professor search with a seminar presented by Dr. Murat Atasoy. Dr. Atasoy’s research seminar topic is “Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Land Use Land Cover Change and its Consequences in Urban Ecology”. The seminar will be held May 5th from 3:00PM-4:00 PM in LSC 1211.
