This Friday’s Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar will feature Dr. Alfonso Rodriguez, a medical physicist at the Rio Grande Cancer Center in El Paso, TX. In his talk Medical Physics: From Fundamentals to Frontiers, Dr. Rodriguez will describe the training pathways for a career in this field, introduce the physics principles associated with major clinical modalities, and describe his own research. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210 with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are encouraged to attend!

Join CAPS for a Sleep-Well Workshop from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, in Bell Hall 264.
Learn practical tips to help you fall asleep faster and wake up feeling refreshed. The workshop will also explore how cannabis can disrupt sleep quality over time.
Enjoy Sleepy Tea, Chick-fil-A, and a raffle while learning simple strategies to improve your sleep and overall well-being.
“Barney (The Beagle)” a coloured pencil piece by astrophysics and applied mathematics student Carla René has been chosen as the cover for the issue 9 edition of The Iris Review. That publication date is May 3rd.
Her self-portrait, “Carla René-#WomanInSTEM” has also been accepted for publication.
Carla is a member of Art ‘Round Tennessee and this past August was honoured by the Coloured Pencil Society of America with her coveted Signature Status, allowing her to display CPSA after her name. She paints in hyperrealism (what the camera sees), hyperrealism (more than the camera sees), and her own watercolour effect she invented.
