Applications for the Scholastic Research Award must be submitted electronically in a single PDF to sstorie@tntech.edu on or before Feb. 28, 2021. The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2020. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. The Computer Science Graduate Student Club is back with the Spring 2021 Seminar Series. Andrew McDole, a Computer Science MS student, is going to hold the first seminar, where he will be talking about “Cloud Malware Detection using Deep Learning.” Andrew will be presenting over the following MS Teams session on Thursday, Feb 11 from 3 – 4 PM.

Tennessee Tech launched its third annual “I Heart Tech Students” campaign! With a focus on keeping students enrolled during challenging times, the campaign raises money for Tech’s Accessible Education Center, Counseling Center, Eagle Assistance Grant, Food Pantry and Health Services. While faculty, staff, alumni, students and friends can choose to support one of these five areas, a gift to any area on campus will count towards this campaign. The campaign will run through Mar. 25, and on Mar. 27 — Tech’s Charter Day — we will announce the total of funds raised. Visit 1915.tntech.edu to learn more.

In addition to the Fraud, Waste, or Abuse reporting form, Tennessee Tech also has a form on Internal Audit’s website for confidentially reporting complaints about accounting, internal control, auditing matters, code of conduct, and other related issues that are NOT fraud, waste, or abuse. Complainants remain COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS to Internal Audit unless the last section of the form is completed. General complaints received on this form are routed to appropriate campus departments for follow-up.
