Diversity and Inclusion in STEM Presentation- Nov 19

The Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) chapters are hosting Benny Chan, Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry at The College of New Jersey for a diversity and inclusion presentation at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. You can attend in person in Foster 233 or via Zoom (link here). The presentation is titled “Using my queer superpowers to create inclusive excellence in STEM”. Marginalized communities need a coordinated effort to realize equity in the STEM community and Professor Chan will discuss his life and how he is supporting the fight for diversity, equity, and inclusion.  The presentation is free and open to all students, faculty, and staff and should be informative for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
