Rural Reimagined congratulates alumni Matt Billings who has accepted a job at the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD)! Matt graduated in December 2019 with a degree in Professional & Technical Communications (PTC), and he used his PTC skill sets and experience from interning with Rural Reimagined to obtain his position as a Community Development Planner for the UCDD! Matt will continue working with and impacting rural communities through his position in grant writing and community development. In regards to his new job, Matt says, “My experience with Rural Reimagined, and learning the scope and vision of state funding and problem solving for rural issues, coupled with my experience in Technical, Rhetorical, and Business writing within the English PTC program undoubtedly gave me invaluable professional experience, as well as an upper hand for this rewarding career opportunity.” Also, a special thanks to Dr. Kristin Pickering for her continued partnership in linking PTC students with Rural Reimagined opportunities! If any faculty have students that they would like to connect to Rural Reimagined, please contact Kinsey Potter at kbpotter42@students.tntech.edu. Wings up!
