Dr. Combs joined the Tennessee Tech Department of Biology in 1989 and served as Associate Professor, Professor and Department Chair throughout his 36-year career. Known for his approachable teaching style and field-based mentorship, Dr. Combs shared his passion for wildlife biology and ecology while inspiring students to look more closely, think more critically, and care deeply about the natural systems around them. His wit, thoughtfulness and genuine sense of altruism are deeply missed by his family and friends.
