Students from disciplines across campus went to “bootcamp” to explore the intersection of energy technologies, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Offered through the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) program, this Engineering Convergence Bootcamp brought together approximately 70 Tech students, faculty and regional high school representatives in the AIEB atrium. Participants rotated through seven student-led lightning talks focused on real-world interdisciplinary challenges, earning a certificate upon completion.

Organizers behind this successful event included computer science professors Maanak Gupta, PI, and Doug Talbert, co-PI; chemistry lecturer Twanelle Majors, project coordinator; associate professor of electrical and computer engineering Charles Van Neste, faculty advisor; and curriculum and instruction lecturer Marlana Lastres, project evaluator.
