Faculty from the WHSoN, Dr. Geist, Dr. Mabry, and Ms. Cass, designed a hands-on study-abroad experience to engage students at all levels of the Belizean healthcare system. Students traveled to Belize, where they conducted home visits and health fairs in remote villages and gained clinical experience in a resource-limited hospital setting. Geist, Mabry, and Cass embody the “Think Globally, Act Locally” vision with a 16-year history in Belize and robust outreach efforts in the Upper Cumberland.
