Tennessee Tech students are making an impact on their campus and in their communities through their service work and projects in a new IMPACT Cookeville Service-Learning (SVCL 4150/6150) course. This course was first offered in spring 2024 by College of Education instructor Kinsey Simone, PhD. On April 8th, students Tyree Cripps, Heather Bertram, and Melody Newman presented on their individual community resource packets, which included resources on equal opportunity, benefits of young adult literature (YAL), and promoting STEM for all to City of Cookeville Mayor Laurin Wheaton and Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter. Each student was gifted an iPad in recognition of their service from IMPACT Cookeville and the College of Education’s Jeffers Technology Endowment.
