Director of African and African-American studies at Stanford University, Allyson Hobbs, is the author of the award-winning book, A Chosen Exile: A History of Racial Passing in American Life. Hobbs examines the phenomenon of racial passing in the United States from the late eighteenth century to the present. This is a Center Stage event co-sponsored by Dr. Julia Gruber, Multicultural Affairs, and the Women’s Center.
