Allyson Hobbs is the author of the award-winning book, A Chosen Exile: A History of Racial Passing in American Life. Hobbs examines the phenomenon of racial passing in the United States from the late eighteenth century to the present. Hobbs is Director of African and African-American studies at Stanford University. This is a Center Stage event co-sponsored by Dr. Julia Gruber, Multicultural Affairs, and the Women’s Center.
