The Tennessee Tech Trombone Studio will present a free concert at 7:30 PM on Friday, Jan. 31, 2019 in Tennessee Tech University’s Wattenbarger Auditorium. The concert, a program of trombone solos with piano accompaniment provided by Paul Thurmond will feature music in the tradition of Arthur Pryor, former trombone soloist with the John Philip Sousa band.
The evening’s Pops Night for Trombone will feature TTU Music Majors and Center Stage Guest Artists performing classic solos for Trombone. Concertgoers will enjoy turn of the century solos by Pryor and jazz tinged selections by Henry Fillmore and Michael Davis.
We are delighted to welcome guest soloists MSG Sam Woodhead of the US Army Band and Gabe Langfur from Boston University for this evening.
