The ladies spent months sharing\u00a0emails and twirling routines to prepare and\u00a0practiced together the day before the parade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou form close friendships. Some of\u00a0us I twirled with and some I didn\u2019t, but it\u2019s\u00a0been great to renew those ties after all these\u00a0years,\u201d said <strong>Barbara Daugherty Young<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201969 education. \u201cTo be there and be a part of\u00a0it \u2013 we\u2019re proud of our Tech days. We think\u00a0everybody should be proud of theirs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This fall, they will return to perform at\u00a0Homecoming. The ladies, who range in age\u00a0from 65 to 72, will march in the parade, perform\u00a0before the game in tailgate park and may\u00a0display their talents during the game itself.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Barbara, the former Golden\u00a0Girls were: <strong>Barbara Jones Harris<\/strong>, \u201966 sociology;\u00a0<strong>Patti Womack Clarke<\/strong>, \u201972 human ecology \u2013\u00a0education; <strong>Cathy Ford Sweeney<\/strong>, \u201967 elementary\u00a0education; <strong>Melinda Miller Hatfield<\/strong>; <strong>Charlene\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Jewell True<\/strong>, \u201969 elementary education; <strong>Candace\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Holbrook Garrett<\/strong>; and <strong>Pat Haglegan Gostel<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201970 education \u2013 administration and supervision.<\/p>\n<p>Homecoming is Nov. 14 at Tucker Stadium. <strong>V<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Last fall, eight Golden Girl Majorette\u00a0alumnae came together to perform again at\u00a0Homecoming.
