This fall, Tech renewed its commitment to innovative and original research through two vice presidential hires.
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Bahman Ghorashi came to Tech from Cleveland State University, where he was dean of the College of Engineering. He has been responsible for developing a variety of partnerships between universities and private entities. He also served as the executive director for Cleveland State’s Fenn Research and Development Institute.
Vice President for Research and Economic Development Bharat Soni came to Tech from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was the chairman of the mechanical engineering department. His research focuses on high performance computing, especially new and expanded uses of 3-D and virtual reality technology.
