When her hectic campus schedule allows, Kimmy Manning, ’15 journalism, can be found on a bench in the quad soaking up the sunshine in lush grass. Kimmy, of Franklin, plays an active role in campus life as a tour guide, a member of Tech’s Omega Phi Alpha sorority and Habitat for Humanity.

She is also a member of Tech’s Harry Potter-inspired quidditch team and a reporter for the Oracle, specializing as the newspaper’s entertainment critic.

Like many TTU students, past and present, she is busy in her major and in social events and activities. Though the technologies and types of campus activities have changed over the years, many pieces of student life remain the same. Kimmy allowed one of our photographers to follow her for a day last spring and show what Tech is like today.

The following pages contain a glimpse into a single day of a current Tech student, eating breakfast with friends in the cafeteria, giving a campus tour to prospective students, hanging out with sorority sisters and, of course, attending classes and club meetings.

Whether you have been away from campus for several decades or just a few months, follow Kimmy and get a different kind of look at your alma mater.
