Students study in Tech’s library, now Jere Whitson Memorial Building. This photo dates from the 1950s, shortly after the building opened. Since the Angelo & Jennette Volpe Library opened in 1989, Jere Whitson has housed the Alumni Association, the Backdoor Playhouse and classrooms. This year, renovations will transform it into a campus visitor center. The Backdoor Playhouse will also be updated.
