As we prepare to celebrate Tech’s Centennial, the university will host a variety of special events throughout 2015 and 2016. The biggest events are listed here with tentative dates. There will be additional centennial events throughout the celebration.

Whether you’ve been back recently or not since you graduated, we hope that you will make the trip and help us to remember our past and prepare for our future.

Event Schedule

Charter Day – March 27, 2015

Celebrate the day 100 years ago when Gov. Thomas C. Rye signed the bill establishing Tennessee Polytechnic Institute. TPI became Tennessee Tech University in 1965.

Downtown Kick-Off – September 18, 2015

Throughout its 100 years, Tech and the rest of the Cookeville community have worked together and enjoyed a close and supportive relationship. Together, we will explore and recognize our mutual history with a museum exhibition and concert.

Centennial homecoming – October/November 2015

At our centennial homecoming, we will have special events and reunions for all of our graduates. We’ll party with great friends and food, music and football. Date to be announced.

Centennial Gala – January 15, 2016

This black tie, reservations-only gala will take guests on a walk down memory lane and give a peek at the university’s future. With dinner and dancing, it is certain to be a good time.

Centennial Spring Finale Week – April 11-16, 2016

As we round out centennial celebrations, everyone is invited to enjoy some fun in the sun and reminisce around campus. The week’s celebrations will feature music, public art, spring sports and festival activities.
