{"id":18276,"date":"2023-09-20T08:00:37","date_gmt":"2023-09-20T13:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.tntech.edu\/techtimes\/?p=18276"},"modified":"2023-09-19T10:19:23","modified_gmt":"2023-09-19T15:19:23","slug":"distress-protocol-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.tntech.edu\/techtimes\/2023\/events\/distress-protocol-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Distress Protocol Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All Academic Affairs faculty and staff are invited to join the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAF\u00c9) and the Tennessee Tech University Counseling Center for a workshop on the student&nbsp;distress&nbsp;protocol on Tuesday, September 26th from 3-4:30 PM in RUC 101, Tech Pride Room.<\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee Tech University Counseling Center is committed to providing resources to ensure that a student in crisis is responded to quickly, responsibly, and in an&nbsp;empathetic manner. A&nbsp;distressed student may also display disruptive behaviors, which may be covered by student conduct policy, and not be addressed directly by this&nbsp;protocol. This&nbsp;protocol&nbsp;is designed to provide guidance to the campus community. It defines how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>Ensure a coordinated crisis response and review process.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>Recognize the signs that a student may be in distress.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Establish a consistent framework for responding to the student in distress.<\/p>\n<p>Refreshments will be served.
