Faculty Success Story: Dr. Mike Gotcher Receives Grant to Provide\u00a0Free\u00a0Wifi\u00a0Access to Rural Students<\/p>\n
Rural Reimagined recognizes Dr. Mike Gotcher for his recent success in receiving a grant to provide 200 TN Tech students in rural counties with free,\u00a0unlimited\u00a0Wifi\u00a0access.\u00a0Students\u00a0living in rural areas\u00a0frequently struggle to establish\u00a0much needed\u00a0Wifi\u00a0access\u00a0needed to complete assignments, attend Zoom lectures, or be\u00a0able to\u00a0download course content.\u00a0The grant will go a long way in helping students meet their educational needs.\u00a0Dean\u00a0Gotcher states, \u201cWe wanted to address the digital divide and help students succeed academically.\u00a0The grant provides a much-needed resource for our students.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Interested students can\u00a0contact\u00a0Dylcia\u00a0Cowan at\u00a0\u00a0dcowan@tntech.edu<\/a>\u00a0to obtain the form needed to receive hot spots.\u00a0Students are also welcomed to drop in at Southwest Hall, Room 141A between the hours of 8:00 am-4:30pm.
