New, Easier Phish Alert Reporting now available

Information Technology Services is introducing an easier way to report phishing emails. Campus members who use Outlook will see a new button on the ribbon named “Phish Alert Report.” This button has a white envelope with an orange fishhook. Clicking this button will open a sidebar with details about the currently selected message. If the message is believed to be phishing, click the “Phish Alert” button to report to ITS.

Campus members who use Office365 or access their mail through the web can find this same functionality by first selecting the suspected message, clicking the three-dot settings menu, and selecting “Phish Alert V2.” This will open a sidebar with details about the currently selected message. If the message is believed to be phishing, click the “Phish Alert” button to report to ITS.

Once reported, the message will be removed from your mailbox.
