Student workers who have made exceptional contributions to campus offices have been recognized with the Most Valuable work Study Student and the Most Valuable Scholarship Student awards.
Derrecka Burkeen has been selected as the Most Valuable work Study Student for her work in the office of multicultural affairs.
“Derrecka Burkeen is an exemplary employee,” said Corinne Johnson, administrative associate in multicultural affairs. “Her attitude and character depict a woman of integrity and grace.”
Burkeen does not hesitate to step in and help when needed, often going above and beyond her assigned duties.
Ebrima Janneh has been selected as the Most Valuable Scholarship Student for his work in the records office, where he is known as “EJ.”
“EJ has a can-do attitude, learns very quickly, and he is very responsive when asked to complete any task, and he does it with such enthusiasm,” said Gloria Presley in the records office. “He is one of the most responsible and dependable student workers we have seen in a long time.”
Janneh is described as being an excellent communicator, professional and caring.
Burkeen and Janneh were both presented with their awards at the April Luncheon Forum.
