Yesterday, the General Assembly voted to approve the nominees for Tech’s inaugural Board of Trustees.
“The confirmation of our Board of Trustees marks the beginning of an exciting and historic transition for our university,” President Phil Oldham said. “The new governance structure through an independent board will allow Tech the ability to become the best university possible. With local autonomy, our university will be able to thoughtfully and quickly adapt to changing public needs, providing the most relevant, cost-effective educational opportunities for our students.”
Last week, the eight nominees met with both House and Senate legislators.
Tech’s board will meet later this spring. The date of the meeting will be announced as soon as it is finalized.
More information about the board members can be found at the Tech Board of Trustees website.
